Acastus is the Illirite Prelate of Coryan, which makes him very powerful indeed. He treats his daughter, Elandre, more like a pawn in his political machinations. It was Acastus who hired an assassin to poison Attalus. Acastus met a horrible end in As Gray and Cold as Stone when he was killed and then cursed to return as a ghoul.
