Althares is the human god of knowledge. He has bestowed three gifts upon the Altherians, one of which is the secrets of blackpowder. Althares' minions are often in opposition of the Unspeakable One, who revels in ignorance and madness, the antithesis of all Althares represents.

Kham val'Abebi worships Althares in his own way. When he discovered the Unspeakable One violated the Temple of Althares in Freeport, he returned the favor by peeing on an altar sacred to one of the Great Old Ones. Needless to say, the Unspeakable One was not pleased and continues to haunt the darkest recesses of Kham's mind to this day.
