IlmarÄ—, Quintus, and Vlad are recruited by Decimus to retrieve the Chalice of Midnight from the devil prince known as Urumeh. Urumeh is on a nameless homeworld, that just so happens to be the world of the fihali, and Bijoux in particular. There, he wages an endless battle against the forces of Darkness. During the struggle, they meet Clodius and discover the fate of the fihali homeworld. Fleeing the doomed sphere, they return the chalice to Decimus. Decimus, in turn, summons Losknek, prince of the Nether Realm, and exchanges the chalice for a single Page. With it, Decimus was convinced he could buy his freedom from Dominarin. Did it work? We don't know yet.
