Captain Baldric decides he wants to run for Captains' Council, so he takes the opportunity during Swagfest to splurge with his ill-gotten gains. Unfortunatey, Baldric has plenty of enemies, and the crime lord Finn spares no trouble in disrupting his fun.
Jesswin, the most dangerous assassin in Freeport, stabs Baldric in the back but escapes. Since the Player Characters sufficiently heal the stubborn old pirate, he refuses to stop the festivities. He then invites Vlad Martell to compete in the battle of One Eyed Jack. Vlad loses by one point.
Finally, it's time for Chase the Rat, wherein a dire rat is loosed in Freeport and contestants must catch it. Chasing the rat leads to an aranea's lair, and to a coccooned Egil and Lucius.
It turns out that the aranea was working for the Brotherhood of the Yellow Sign. It last words to Dril before it died were:
"Have you seen the Yellow Sign?"
"Have you seen the Yellow Sign?"
"Have you seen the Yellow Sign?"
