- Quintus Character Sheet
Quintus is a typical Coryani: arrogant, loud, and aggressive. And yet, Quintus is a curious combination of religious zeal and military prowess. Quintus was originally a simple legionnaire as a member of the Legion of the Reluctant Warrior. When his wife, Baebiana Ignatius, died in childbirth, Quintus fell into depression. His commanding officer decided to give him the job of signifer, as all the men trusted him to obey the letter of the law.
As signifer, Quintus discovered he could channel Illiir's will through his signum. Unfortunately, he did his job too well.
Quintus discovered that hand-picked members of his legion had been selected to recover Cassicus Tensen-Balin. Quintus insisted he go along, understanding how difficult it can be to lose a son.
The success of the mission resulted in Flavius, the legion's centurion, to be discredited by a lowly signifer. Quintus was transferred out to the Legion of the Triumphant Rays of the Invisible Sun. It took months for the transfer to be complete, during which Quintus befriended Kham val'Abebi, IlmarÄ— Galen, and Vlad Martell.
During the campaign against the Sorcerer-King of Ymandragore, Quintus discovered he had feelings for IlmarÄ— and started to worry that she might get hurt. This grated on the free-spirited elorii, who resented any man, much less a human, telling her what to do. Their tensions were eventually resolved and it seemed as if their relationship would flourish. Then Quintus disappeared.
As it turned out, he was ambushed in Freeport by Khorbon, a cultist of the Unspeakable One. In an abandoned Illirite temple, Khorbon attempted to drive Quintus mad as a gift for the King in Yellow. Fortunately, it didn't work.
The experience changed Quintus. He shifted gears from worrying about ascending in the legion to worrying about providing for a future; a future that just might include a certain elorii. As part of his first step in forging his own path, Quintus acquired a farm from House Otrecto in Manteii.
