Sebastian was born in Canceri but fled after his mother was killed by the Sorcerer-King's Harvesters seeking to kidnap him for his magical abilities. Sebastian fled to Solanos Mor, where Elabac raised him. He became fast friends with the dwarf Beldin Soulforge.

Eventually, Elabac asked Sebastian to represent him at General Menisis's Imperial Hunt. Sebastian gladly complied and did far better socially than many of his companions. He had the distinct privilege of sharing a bed with Oriena val'Sheem, a Larissan priestess. He later escorted Oriena to Sweet Savona. The two are still friends.

Sebastian has a fondness for woman in distress, and they of him, an attribute that Kham val'Abebi marvels over every time they meet. Sebastian takes pains to hide his dark-kin heritage because he knows it makes people uncomfortable. Thus, he will not join public baths and keeps his tail hidden. Unfortunately for Sebastian, he used his tail to save himself from certain death in a crushing trap in Freeport. Kham will never let him forget it.

Sebastian has a bat familiar named Dracuul, one of his only true friends. He recently got into an argument with Beldin over keeping secrets; Beldin didn't reveal an important piece of information about Elabac that ultimately put his foster father in danger. Conversely, Sebastian never told anyone--including Beldin--that he was a member of the Shield, a secret society dedicated to hiding anyone endangered by Harvesters. The two have since made up after Beldin sacrificed his life to save Sebastian. Beldin even made him an iron-shod quarterstaff.

The dark-kin recently decided to move to Sulfurmarsh. He has already started a relationship with a one-handed elorii there named Kailee, who is fond of lizards and obviously not too discriminating about dark-kin. Sebastian sees something of himself in the Black Talon ss'ressen and thus has a kinship with both Calactyte and Bijoux.

His soft-spot for outcasts has won Sebastian friends from an unlikely group: the orcs of Freeport. Several prominent orcs see him as natural leader, though they regret his half-human side. This is new for Sebastian, who normally feels he has to apologize for his demonic heritage.

In fact, Sebastian was forced to make precisely that choice when a legion of devils was almost unleashed in Nishanpur. Faced with routing the Nierites with an infernal army (and the death of thousands of innocents), Sebastian chose Nishanpur's continuing bondage...for now.

When facing down the suicidal Ymandrake Commandant, Sebastian contracted a magical plague. He desperately seeks a cure in Canceri as he grows weaker each day.
