The Player Characters finally catch up to Cassicus in Grand Coryan, only to discover Senator Augustus Tensen-Balin beset by thugs. Quintus, Vlad, and Kham make short work of the thugs and rescue the Senator along with his friend Menet. By reading a teleportation scroll, they were transported to Balamshal, a Sanctorum.

In Balamshal, they discover that Cassicus' infection has spread to the other spellcasters and threatens to engulf them all. An elorii named Sevestia has also been discovered at the site, along with mysterious anti-magic rocks. Just then, Theron arrives, proposing a radical plan: using Cassicus as bait to infect Ymandragore.

Augustus refuses at first, until Harvesters attack the Sanctorum. It's up to the collective efforts of our three--ahem, heroes--to keep Cassicus safe. The Harvesters defeated, Augustus agrees to the plan and with Sevestia's help, gives permission to plan an assault upon Ymandragore itself!
