We know of the late Captain Bezyli, who died on the Shrike while pursuing the Dauntless. More importantly, Bezyli was a relation to King Osric IV himself, another val'Ossan. His death will most certainly not be taken lightly.

This connection to the royal line of Milandir weighs heavily on the val'Ossans. Emric Drac was nearly assassinated for his dual heritage of being a Drac and a val'Ossan. His uncle, Thralen Vodric works hard to keep him out of the spotlight, but he fears it is only a matter of time before Emric's heritage catches up with him.
